So come along and watch the best British vert skaters battle it out for points leading to this years
UK Vert Champion. The standard gets high each year with the young guns now blasting the old
guard clear out of the water.

Here's few words written by Wingy on the Mt Hawke event, Blackpool should go off again!

Well what a start to the Vert series was this weekend down at Mount Hawke skatepark Cornwall.
It was kind of what we expected and then some. We all new this was going to be the year that the new young Blood came of age but what was not expected is the shear speed and determination of it. Within minutes of the skating starting on the Sunday anybody over the age of 15 felt like a complete beginner. As we all looked at each other with absolute confusion about what do to the young guns opened fire!!
Kick flip this 540 that heel flips the height of most
Skaters of our generation’s normal airs we all new the book was passed on and we had to fight hard to stay with them. Just one over 15 made it to the final in the A group that was Sean Goff everyone else in that final was still at School. That is the first time I have witnessed anything like that in nearly 20 years of
Skateboarding. Every one of those guys deserved there place in that final no kiddy points for having ago the real deal. And its only the first round by the time we reach the final it will be something very special to see so watch this space. As the final did unfold Sam Beckett was firing hard with lots of very high consistent runs with flips allover the place this took him to the first place spot with out any doubt. The second place finisher was Alex Halford from Nottingham who was in his first A group contest and Did not have any trouble at all playing out with the big boys with long runs and a Massive backside 540 to finish you would have thought he had been doing this stuff for years.

Jacob Anderson took the 3rd spot this guy is only 13 but still has progressed well in the last 2 years with more flip tricks and some varials and even something from back in the day a Saran wrap blast from the past trick showing that these kids can learn Old and New style tricks.

The rest of them all deserve a mention as this was one tuff final with even a International rider Chris O'Reilly from Georgia USA another ripper and poor Young Paul Luc Ronchetti struggled along with a Broken Collar bone. But a true crowd favorite was Jim Langham from Brum who with his own individual style of skating had every body on edge every time he dropped in. Well done all you guys on that the first of many battle this summer.

The B group was a whole load of new faces never seen before but again they wanted a piece of the Action just as much as the A group.
So many new guys already with a half decent standard of skating even the B group is going to a close and well fort out thing this time.

Guys Like Zac Kutz, Rob Fuller, Chris Spencer and Joe T Skin all well in there and giving it some Balls Love it !!!

Mount Hawke was a blast and we owe it to Trawler and all the sponsors (Relentless, Vans and Shiner) for making this happen, hope to see you all for Round 2 at Blackpool in May
And we will go at again.
